On February 15, RIKEN KEIKI (Changzhou) Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. officially commenced operations in Niutang town, Wujin district, Changzhou. This marks RIKEN KEIKI’s first industrial project in China and its first overseas production base.
Founded in 1939, RIKEN KEIKI is a global leader in industrial accident prevention and environmental monitoring. Its gas detectors and alarms, designed for combustible gases, toxic gases, and oxygen, are sold in over 60 countries and regions. Since entering the Chinese market in the 1970s, its products have been widely used in key industries such as petrochemicals, semiconductors, and automotive manufacturing.
The new Changzhou facility represents an investment of 800 million yen (approximately 5 million dollars) and is expected to produce 30,000 smart gas detectors annually. Once fully operational, it is projected to generate over 50 million yuan in annual sales and more than 3 million yuan in tax revenue. The facility will focus on researching and producing next-generation semiconductor smart gas detectors and combustible gas alarms, aiming to advance domestic technology and enhance safety solutions for industries like new energy and semiconductors.
After evaluating multiple locations in China, RIKEN KEIKI chose Changzhou for its robust industrial support, strategic location, and high-quality business environment.
