IV. Fixed Asset Investment

The investment structure continued to improve. In 2016, fixed asset investment in Changzhou grew by 6.5% to 360.51 billion RMB, among which industrial investments grew by 9.2% to 191.85 billion RMB and tertiary industry investments climbed by 2.7% to 168.15 billion RMB. Investments from hi-tech enterprises grew by 8.8% to 89.12 billion RMB. Real estate investments fell by 12.1% to 44.67 billion RMB. 33.889 million m2 of residential floor space was developed, down by 14.2%. Among this total, 5.143 million m2 was newly started, down by 19.4%. By end of 2016, 5.353 million m2 of residential floor space was to be sold, 975,000 m2 less than that of 2015.
