As of December 2024, the total number of valid trademark registrations in Changzhou has surpassed 200,000, reaching 200,342, marking a significant milestone in the city’s brand development efforts.
Trademarks, as the core element of a company’s brand identity, are essential tools for businesses to compete in the marketplace. In recent years, there has been a noticeable surge in trademark and brand awareness among local businesses. Increasingly, both enterprises and individual entrepreneurs in Changzhou have been focusing on building their own brands. Statistics show that from January to December 2024, the number of new domestic trademark registrations in Changzhou reached 18,922, a 4.67% increase from the previous year.
"From trademark design and registration to monitoring and enforcement, trademark management has always been a priority for us," said Liu Dong, Head of the Intellectual Property Department at Changfa Group, a well-known enterprise in the city. The company currently holds 125 domestic trademark registrations, spanning 12 major categories within the international trademark classification system. Liu emphasized that after registering their trademarks, the company ensures product quality control to gain consumer trust and continuously enhance their brand image.
To further foster high-quality brand development, the city of Changzhou has implemented five municipal-level intellectual property strategic plans in 2024, alongside trademark protection and application training sessions. The local trademark office has also strengthened its service capacity, providing a wide range of services to support businesses.
In total, the Changzhou trademark office processed 529 new trademark registration applications in 2024, provided consultations and guidance to 2,730 individuals, issued six high-profile trademark warning reports, and identified 388 problematic trademarks. Additionally, the office handled 415 intellectual property disputes.
